How to surf the web anonymously ?
Searching how to bypass some security at my work, I found some interesting free services to visit some website from where you’ve been banned.
In my example a colleague have been banned from a blog, so I told him to use a web based proxy. To help him, I searched some useful website for this purpose.
How to use those anonymous websites and what are their features ?
Simply put the URL to access the website you want to visit without to show your IP.
Those free services deliver some other advantages like :
- Remove all cookies
- Remove all scripts
- Remove ads
- Hide referrer information
- Text only
- Hide title
- Hide header
- Hide user-agent
- Remove images
- Encode your URL (base64 encryption or rorate13 encoding)
- Specific strip Meta
- Open in a new windows (peanuts :))

But, in my web scrumbling I founded 2 interesting project.
JAP An.on Proxy is a free software and community developed by the Prof. Dr. Hannes Federrath from Regensburg University. JAP makes it possible to surf the web anonymously and unobservably. But how does it work ? Simply by flooding a same and unique static IP adress. It’s a easy way to not determine in the user ocean who is who !
Next to this project, I found Tor with another point of view for getting anonymous and unobservably. Tor use a similar P2P system to bypass and reach a page without showing the correct owner IP but some one from the Tor Server community.
