RescueTime, you don’t really rescue your time

Posted by: Loopion In: Web 2.0

Rescue TimeAh ah !!! This was a little word joke. But I think this webapp “name” doesn’t explain exactly what it is used for.

RescueTime makes statistics of your regularly used applications on your computer. After register an account on the website, you install a tiny application on your computer and it will make you a full report of what you use on your computer. Many data are displayed but it seems to much work to manage your own tags.

RescueTime touch a little privacy dark side, so I am a little bit leery.

Give it a try to see what are your most used applications, it’s quite fun. But why don’t making this offline ? ;) That is one of their quote on the developer page :

RescueTime is built with the idea that you shouldn’t have to come to RescueTime.com to view your data, and you should not necessarily have to use our data collector to add data to the system. We’re hard at work on a documented API to allow developers to follow their own RescueTime dreams.

As you see on the screenshot it is not a relevancy of my MSN usage because MSN is most of the time in the background and unused.
But, ya ! The problem is that I use frequently MSN at work & sometimes at home. ;)
